You should always use subject. It gives better SEO and people will find your messages via forum's search much easier.

If you really don't want to use subject (which is a bad idea overall) you could add special tag in .txt message text: <useSubject>false</useSubject>

This is also mentioned in FAQ: http://poster.freddy.lt/faq.php

You should always use subject, I always try to encourage that, because that will help you, you will get more views and downloads from your messages.

You need to insert in the .txt file (inside [message], not the file name). Also make sure you're using the latest version. It's also case sensitive.

Moreover, SMF type does not allow to post replies without subject.

Could you give me an example of you .txt file text?

Edit: from 2.23
* Added new setting in "CONFIG" -> "Directory posting" -> "When replying from directory don't use subject (not recommended: worse SEO, harder for people to find post),".

Yeah, I always used 1.15 ver (hate versions after 1.15 - it is so long to add new topics without add button). Now in latest version it works fine (with insertion <useSubject>false</useSubject>) but i need to edit every post for that(((!!!
Thanks for new setting in config in 2.23a, i really need it,
but it does not work (tried several schedule posts)

It's only for directory posting.

You must put files in "auto-reply" needed folder.

If you want to use schedule in "CONFIG" -> "Directory posting" -> enable "Add to posts lists and not send immediately". Also enable that setting to not use subject.

Then put your files to needed folder in "user/auto-reply". They will be loaded to posts list without subject. Then schedule from there.

It's literally not possible to post without subject to SMF forums.

SMF forums require subject. You would see error in the forum without subject and it won't post at all.

Write your own subject or make the first line the subject.

So can you add in next update something which can help me with this? Like post always the same post subject (example, simple "reply") in SMF boards?

Made the simple "reply" by default for SMF if that setting for directory posting is enabled (since anyone probably won't have anything better in the first line anyway). [from 2.24]
