my case, a bit long, please read it.

that is example my message that have content "music", I save it on txt file
Code:
<subject>A Small, Good Thing - Slim Westerns</subject>
<categories>Blues</categories>
...music download content........

I have many message and many site/forum added on TP. I always find way easy for working: add 1 time - post all site

Exampe I posting site1,site2 is DLEblog and forum3 is vbuletin forum with create new thread option on TP

site1 only have catalog "music" so I setting on TP
Image

site2 have catalog "music" and sub-catalog "Blues" so I setting on TP
Image

forum3 have forum "music", this forum "music" contain sub-forum "Blues".
I still setting on TP same site2
Problem is we don't have permission post on forum "music", only have permission posting on sub-forum "Blues"

now I import my txt file, choose create thread/choose 2 DLEblog and 1 forum above.
2 DLE will be posting fine, but forum3 have error.

with example about forum3 above, I say more about some other forum don't have forum "music", only have forum "Blues", I will setup same forum3 (add id for catalog "music" and "blues" on TP) but must set wrong id for catalog "music" on TP (maybe 999) because I need it appear on list on TEMPLATES/Music. On that case, I still get error and don't have any post be made.

same what you say "posting duplicate will be bannned on forum", I request a option can solve all my problem:

with forum on FORUMS/OTHER SETTING, have option checkbox:
Quote:
pick only one (random if have more than 1) catalog on <categories> and post it, don't post on CHOOSE catalog

now I can add message txt file on TP->create thread->choose catalog "music"->choose All (2 DLEblog and 1 forum)->post
2DLE alway posting fine and forum3 I have new thread on sub-forum "Blues"

hope you improve that option

Hi,

if you're using sub-sections you should never assign IDs to main section. That's how I would recommend it, assigning ID to main section just gets confusing and too complicated.

Add one more sub-section something like "General".

Site 1: assign that "Music" ID to "Blues" and "General" sub-sections.

Site 2: assign "Blues" ID to "Blues" and "Music" ID to "General".

Forum 3: assign only "Blues" ID to "Blues" sub-section. You don't need to assign "Music" sub-forum to anything since it's not possible to post to that forum.

When posting post to "Blues" sub-section and add <categories>General</categories>:
Site 1: will get posted to "Music" (since they only have "Music").
Site 2: will get posted in "Blues" and "Music" (General) [since it's DLE blog].
Site 3> will get posted in "Blues".

Everything is fine.

yes with your method all site be post fine. But actually it is more complex.
I have about 200-300 file txt content music per day.Every file have diffirent <categories>
example:
file1:
<categories>Jazz,World,FLAC - Lossless</categories>
file2:
<categories>Blues,Country,Rock</categories>
file3:
<categories>Jazz</categories>
... (I find out way create auto <categories> by my tool+using TL so all <categories> have content exactly, don't worry about it)
with MUSIC have about 20-30 diffirent name of sub-catalog same Jazz,Blues,Rap,...

300 file/day so I don't know what is the txt file have <categories> "Blues", "Rock", "Rap".
So I can't using your method :

better method is posting post to "Music" (or General - you say). I'm using that method and all DLEblog, wordpress will be fine. Only have problem with forum same I say on #1

so exactly option can solve:

with forum on FORUMS/OTHER SETTING, have option checkbox:
Quote:
pick only one (random if have more than 1) catalog on <categories> and post it, don't post on CHOOSE catalog

I don't really like that setting because it a bit confusing for most people.

What if you set template ID for "Music" section for that forum to "-1" and the program would automatically try to use the first template from <categories> tag then?

Obviously if no "<categories>" tag is in the message you would see error in forum that such sub-forum doesn't exists (-1). Or I would just show "Skipped" message for that status automatically.

That's basically what you want, just instead of enabling some setting, you would need to add template (using templates editor) for that section with ID of -1 (you also already talked about "dummy" IDs).

you may know this but I will still put it out here just to make sure.
for example with text file have
Code:
<categories>Jazz,World,FLAC - Lossless</categories>

as you have said forum Jazz will be posted and forum World and FLAC - Lossless will be skipped.
If forum that I choose to post is not set forum ID for Jazz, I want to skip Jazz and head to working on with World, and, similarly, if the same thing happens to World then we will continue working on with FLAC - Lossless (as you know, not all forums have those subforums like Jazz,World,FLAC - Lossless,...)

It would use the first "section" which has "template".

hi Freddy,
I have tested TP 2.49 and it working perfect, thank you.
But I think need a bit improve.
example: 1 FORUM ABC have forum (catalogies) MUSIC, this forum MUSIC have sub-forum is JAZZ.

On that case user have permission posting on all forum (MUSIC,JAZZ), so I will set both id forum on templates of TP (that case not using value -1).

content of message:
Code:
<categories>JAZZ</categories>
...music download content........

Because we can create only one post on forum ABC so default message will be posted on MUSIC. But I think that message marked categories JAZZ so it should be post on JAZZ (better on MUSIC).

So I suggestion that option (maybe checkbox-same "Show only sections with IDs" on TEMPLATES EDITOR windows )
Quote:
high priority posting on section on <categories>
